Giving Instruction

Giving Instruction is an expression that is used in order that other person does what we instruct or request.

Giving instruction statement can use:

- When people ask unknown address,  

- When demonstrate a recipe of food or drink,  

- When ask somebody to do something that we want. 

1. The tense used in giving instructions is "SIMPLE PRESENT"

2. When the commanding word is a verb, you use the infinite without to.Examples:

- Open your book!

- Close your book!

- Move the chair! 

- Pass me the suggar! 

- Stand up!

- Sit down!

- Listen to me!

3. If we do not use a verb as commanding word, use be + adjective. Examples:

- Be careful!
- Be gentle!
- Be quiet!
- Be yourself!
- Be good boy!

4. When we forbid someone to do something, use don't +verb infinite without to. Examples:

- Don't close your book!
- Don't climb!
- Don't cry!
- Don't close the door!
- Don't hold this!

5. When we forbid someone to do something, use don't + be + adjective. Examples:

- Don't be scared!

- Don't be noisy!

- Don't be sad!
